The Blessed Sacrament Parish Players history dates prior to 1980. The first director was Grace Henn, a parishioner and a loyal BS Choir member. In 1985, Ed Callahan became the director and produced Guys and Dolls. After a brief hiatus, the Blessed Sacrament Players remerged under the support of Msgr. Boyle and put on the much loved musical, The King and I. Many other wonderful musical productions have been produced on the Blessed Sacrament stage, such as, My Fair Lady, South Pacific, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma, Carousel, The Music Man, Annie, Mame, Once Upon a Mattress and last year's Shenandoah.
The BS Parish Players are more than a group of dedicated actors. Many performers also take on responsibility for set design, ads, tickets and the like. We also have devoted "behind the scenes" folk who work extremely hard. They keep the show together but you'll never see them take a bow! The most important part of being a Parish Player is the feeling of being a member of a community of people who love the stage and each other!
